Tinubu to Initiate More Projects in Northern Region, Says Information Minister

Kaduna: The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has announced that President Bola Tinubu is set to initiate additional developments in the Northern Region through policies and programs aimed at benefiting the people.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Idris shared these insights during an interview at a two-day Interactive Session on Government-citizens' Engagement held on Tuesday in Kaduna. The event, which focused on assessing electoral promises and enhancing government-citizen engagement for national unity, was organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation.

The minister highlighted that prior to his election, President Tinubu engaged with Northern leaders, discussing key areas such as security, agriculture, economy, and governance. The session in Kaduna served as a platform for government representatives to address questions from the Northern community and reaffirm the administration's commitment to fulfilling its promises.

Idris emphasized that the current administration is at its midterm and has already fulfilled many promises, with more initiatives planned for the Northern Region. He expressed confidence that by the end of Tinubu's first term, most promises would be realized, noting the positive reception from attendees at the event.

Over 60 leaders from the Northern Region, serving in Tinubu's administration, attended the session to communicate the government's achievements and future plans. Idris underscored the unprecedented nature of this engagement, highlighting its significance in fostering collaboration between the government and its citizens.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the event's plenary sessions addressed national security, governance, and the economy, providing a comprehensive overview of the administration's priorities and progress.
