Tinubu to Honour 210 Ex-NYSC Members

Abuja: No fewer than 210 corps members will be honoured by President Bola Tinubu at the President's National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Honours Award for the 2020 to 2023 service years. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by NYSC's Director of Media, Mr Emeka Mgbemena.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the award ceremony will be held on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa at 11 a.m. Mgbemena stated that the awardees include 200 ex-corps members who excelled in all the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC. These programmes include the Orientation Course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service, and Winding-Up/Passing-Out during the 2020 to 2023 service years.

In addition, Mgbemena highlighted that other honourees under the NYSC Hope Alive Initiative include 10 ex-corps members who suffered permanent disabilities while serving their country. He also mentioned that the Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, and NYSC Management were looking forward to welcoming the award beneficiaries and guests to the event.
