Abuja: President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday and his 22nd year as the 13th Etsu Nupe.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the President's message was conveyed through a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, in Abuja. Tinubu commended the traditional leader's steadfast patriotism and leadership, recognizing him as a significant figure in maintaining both traditional and national stability.
The President emphasized Abubakar's notable military career, where he served with distinction and retired as a Brigadier General before becoming the Etsu Nupe in 2003. Tinubu acknowledged Etsu Nupe's substantial contributions to nation-building and his efforts to foster unity, harmony, religious tolerance, peace, and reconciliation across the country.
Furthermore, Tinubu praised Abubakar's humility, courage, and leadership skills, which have been evident in his roles as Chairman of the Abuja Mosque and Chairman Coordinating Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria. The President concluded by praying for the Etsu Nupe's continued health and wisdom, expressing his hope that Allah blesses his reign with peace and prosperity.
