Abuja: President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), on her recent election as Vice-President of Airports Council International (ACI) Africa.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the President’s congratulatory message was delivered through a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, in Abuja. ACI is recognized as the global trade body representing airports around the world, responsible for setting international standards, policies, and best practices for airport management and operations.

Kuku’s election to the esteemed position was confirmed during the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly, which took place in Lusaka, Zambia, from September 13 to September 19. President Tinubu lauded the leadership of FAAN for their commitment to ensuring safe and efficient air transport in Nigeria, a commitment that has now been acknowledged on a global platform.

He further applauded Kuku for her vision and leadership, noting her previous role as ACI Africa Regional Advisor and her new permanent seat on the ACI World Governing Board. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that ACI, established in 1991, supervises over 2,000 airports across more than 170 countries and territories through its Governing Board.
