Three Tunisian artists among 58 artists from Africa and the Diaspora were selected for the international exhibition of the 15th edition of Dakar Biennale of Contemporary African Art (Dak'Art), due May 16-June 16, 2024. They are Youness Ben Simane, Slimen Elkamel et Faten Rouissi. The international exhibition will therefore be structured around the theme of this edition: "The wake," in an immersive journey, thanks to an intimate, narrative and serious scenography. This selection embodies extraordinary African creativity, with a diversity of mediums, techniques and artistic universes. From drawing to virtual reality, including sound, sculpture and even photography, the selection process for the international exhibition was guided by a commitment to inclusiveness, the search for a balance that transcends borders and celebrates the rich tapestry of artistic voices. Artists from the African diaspora bring their experiences as Africans and Afrodescendants across the world, and will rub shoulders with artists w ho live and work on the African continent.
