South West Firmly Supports Tinubu for 2027 Re-Election, Says Lagos APC

Lagos: The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has firmly declared that the South West region will continue to stand by President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential elections. This statement comes in response to claims from supporters of a PDP presidential aspirant, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, suggesting that the South West would not back Tinubu for re-election.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Seye Oladejo, the APC Spokesman, criticized Olawepo-Hashim, arguing that he lacks the political infrastructure and electoral capability necessary to pose a real challenge on a national scale. Oladejo expressed confidence that President Tinubu would successfully overcome any opposition to his re-election bid in 2027.

Oladejo remarked that Olawepo-Hashim, whom he described as a "perennial aspirant," is merely a symbol of the opposition's desperation. He dismissed the endorsements received by Olawepo-Hashim as insignificant, stating that they would not convert into actual votes. Oladejo further asserted that if Olawepo-Hashim were to become the PDP's presidential candidate, he would face a decisive defeat at the polls due to the party's lack of depth in resources.

Oladejo criticized Olawepo-Hashim's portrayal of the Tinubu administration's achievements, labeling it as distasteful. He emphasized that Tinubu's government is making substantial advancements in infrastructure, education, agriculture, security, and fiscal reforms. He argued that the opposition's reliance on selective statistics and rhetoric is an attempt to distract from the current administration's progress.

He also urged the opposition to focus on real governance competence instead of press releases. Oladejo concluded by reaffirming that in 2027, voters will favor continuity with a president who has demonstrated effective leadership and tangible results. He assured that the South West would remain loyal to Tinubu, rejecting what he described as "theatrical ambition without substance."
