Round-table Discussion Underway in Jimma University on BRICS Think Tanks Council

Addis Ababa: A round-table discussion is underway at Jimma University organized by Ethiopia's Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA), on the 2025 BRICS Think Tanks Council (BTTC) document. The discussions are held under the theme: 'Ethiopian Expert Institutions: BRICS Insights for National Aspirations.'

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the BRICS Think Tanks Council is a platform for the exchange of ideas among researchers, academia, and think tanks. It convenes the BRICS Academic Forum and presents policy recommendations and guidance to BRICS Leaders for consideration.

The BTTC comprises several key institutions from BRICS nations, including the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA) in Brazil, the National Committee for BRICS Research (NRC/BRICS) in Russia, the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in India, the China Council for BRICS Think Tank Cooperation (CCBTC) in China, and the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS) in South Africa.

As new countries have joined the BRICS bloc, more think tanks and institutes from various countries are entering the BRICS Think Tanks Council, it was indicated.
