Lagos: Anchor Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) International Company Ltd. and the Rotary Club of Nigeria, Victoria Island East, have joined forces to offer health insurance to 100 indigent residents who were displaced from the Maroko community. This initiative will provide them with a year's worth of healthcare coverage.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the announcement was made during a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony in Lagos. Mrs. Idorenyin Okon, General Manager of Anchor HMO, emphasized that this collaboration is a pivotal step towards enhancing access to quality healthcare services across Nigeria through a shared commitment to strategic partnerships. Mrs. MokesiOluwa Seun-Adedamola, President of Rotary Club of Victoria Island East, stated that the initiative aligns with Rotary International's focus on disease prevention and community development. She emphasized that the partnership offers a sustainable alternative to transient interventions like food or clothing donations. Mr. Lanre Adedoyin, District Governor of Rotary District 9112, described the initiative as a 'momentous step' for the club and a strategic contribution to community health. He urged all partners to uphold the MoU's values with integrity and accountability, reaffirming Rotary Club's dedication to community-based projects in line with their seven areas of focus, including health and disease prevention.
