PM Abiy Extends Best Wishes to Ethiopians on Meskel-Demera Holiday

Addis ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended messages to Christian faithful on the celebration of Demera and Meskel, commemorating the finding of the True Cross. Meskel Demera reminds us that truth can never be buried. When the cross was buried, upon which dirt was thrown creating a large mountain, many believed it would never be discovered. Some even lost hope. Those who buried it rejoiced, convinced that they had triumphed, and the buried cross seemed destined to fade into history, PM Abiy has posted on his social media. According to Ethiopian News Agency, Abiy stated that when strong hands and truth seekers came, brushing away the dust and clearing the filth, the cross emerged once more from its place of burial. 'Truth cannot be buried. When the time comes, it rises, clears away the dust, and shines forth like a rock. It does not vanish like falsehood; it endures,' the prime minister underscored. According to the premier, Ethiopia's truth doesn't differ from this fact. Just as the crowing of roost ers cannot prevent the sunrise, nor can the fluttering wings of bats delay it, Ethiopia's light will inevitably shine. Like the cross, Ethiopia's truth will break through the dust, cast off the dusty, and triumph over obstacles,' he emphasized, adding, 'Guided by the spirit of Medemer Demera, we shall work diligently to ensure Ethiopia's prosperity.
