PM Abiy Commends Kazanchis Transformation, Cautions against Complacency

Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has lauded the remarkable transformation of the Kazanchis area in Addis Ababa, a key component of the second phase of the city's beautification and corridor development project.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, inaugurating the renovation of Kazanchis area, Prime Minister Abiy highlighted the stark contrast between its previous slum areas state and the current modernized urban centre, emphasizing the project's significance for national pride and future development. He noted that just a few months ago, Kazanchis was unsuitable for living due to unplanned development and inadequate infrastructure.

Prime Minister Abiy attributed the area's transformation to the corridor development project, which aims to revitalize key areas of Addis Ababa into modern urban centres. He expressed pride in the rapid development and acknowledged the improved living conditions for community members relocated to Gelan Gura.

He emphasized the importance of continuously striving for progress, urging leadership to avoid complacency. Abiy stressed that vision requires hard work to become a reality and highlighted the need for Ethiopia to accelerate national development for a better future.

The prime minister also addressed the positive feedback from international visitors and reiterated the project's role in laying the groundwork for a modern city with clean water, green spaces, and safe recreational areas.
