Yola: Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has announced that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is ready and repositioned for the 2027 general elections. Fintiri made this statement while addressing newsmen on the sidelines of the party's state congress held in Yola. He emphasized the party's efforts to rejuvenate its image and build trust among its members and the public. "We are trying to give birth to a new PDP where everyone will believe, trust and have confidence in. We are really positioned, and we are ready for 2027," he stated. The governor noted the congress was conducted transparently and fairly, and highlighted the swift progress of the party alongside the government's commitment to good governance.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Fintiri also mentioned that the government and the party are collaboratively working to enhance the welfare of citizens, a fact underscored by the large public turnout at the congress. The newly elected leaders at the congress are expected to guide the party's activities over the next four years. "We know them and we have confidence in them, they have experience in party politics, and we believe they will lead us well as we work towards 2027. By God's will, we will get there and produce another good government, just as we have experienced in the last eight years," Fintiri expressed.
In addition to Fintiri's remarks, Mrs. Golfa Mallim, a House of Representatives aspirant for Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency, extended her congratulations to the newly elected executives. She urged them to build upon the PDP's previous accomplishments and praised the new state chairman, Alhaji Hamza Madagali, for his dedication to unity and grassroots development. "This is a memorable moment for us in the PDP. Alhaji Madagali has passion, love and dedication for the growth of the party at all levels. His leadership would guarantee a stronger PDP capable of reclaiming more political seats in 2027," Mallim said.
Mallim also called for party members to embrace unity and reconciliation, cautioning that internal divisions could jeopardize the party's prospects in upcoming elections. "For us to succeed as a party, we must set aside differences and work collectively. Supporting Alhaji Madagali is the first step towards a revitalised and formidable PDP in Adamawa," she added.
