Lagos: A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State has congratulated Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for the peaceful installation of Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ladoja was crowned the 44th Olubadan on Friday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Adeoye, President and Group CEO of Fendini Group, celebrated Ladoja, a former governor of the state, on his installation. He described Makinde as a kingmaker who had contributed to peace, development, and economic progress in Oyo State. Adeoye noted that Makinde has fostered an environment where traditional rulers can contribute to their domains' development.
Adeoye stated, "We must commend Gov. Seyi Makinde as the true Kingmaker of our time. His administration has balanced respect for tradition with strides in governance, restoring peace to our chieftaincy system while advancing Oyo State economically. From infrastructure projects to youth empowerment, Makinde has integrated development into traditional institutions, ensuring they drive progress."
According to him, under Makinde's leadership, Oyo State has seen increased investments, job creation, and infrastructural improvements that have revitalized the economy. "The agricultural value chains are booming, tech hubs are emerging, real estate is transforming the state into a modern city, and traditional councils are now partners in sustainable development," he said. He emphasized Fendini's commitment to supporting initiatives aligned with Makinde's transformative agenda and expressed interest in collaborative opportunities in community development and economic empowerment.
Adeoye remarked that Ladoja's installation was more than a coronation. "Oba Ladoja's ascension to the throne is a divine affirmation of leadership rooted in integrity and service," he said. He highlighted that the installation marked a new chapter of cultural renaissance and communal harmony for Ibadan and Oyo State. He added that Ladoja's installation symbolized the strength of Ibadan's traditional institution and its role in fostering unity and progress.
Adeoye described Oba Ladoja as a distinguished statesman and philanthropist. "Under his leadership, Ibadanland is set to reclaim its stature as a beacon of innovation, tradition, and resilience, guiding its people toward prosperity and cultural preservation," he said.
