Okah-Donli Pays Tribute to Late Former President Muhammadu Buhari

Abuja: Dame Julie Okah-Donli, former Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), has paid tribute to late former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a principled leader with genuine intentions for Nigeria.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Okah-Donli expressed her sentiments in a condolence message issued in Abuja, following the passing of the former President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She highlighted Buhari's commitment to national service, both during his tenure as a military Head of State and as a democratically-elected President.

Okah-Donli praised Buhari for his disciplined leadership and integrity, noting his contributions to the fight against corruption and his efforts to strengthen democratic institutions in Nigeria. She acknowledged his support during her tenure as NAPTIP Director-General from 2017 to 2020, specifically in combating human trafficking and promoting justice for vulnerable populations.

The former NAPTIP chief extended her condolences to the Buhari family, the Federal Government, and all Nigerians. She expressed her prayers for his forgiveness and eternal peace, invoking Allah's mercy to reward his service to humanity and the nation.

Okah-Donli also served as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking.
