Abuja: The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has inducted 261 engineers as Fellows, urging them to uphold integrity, ethical standards, and contribute actively to national development. Speaking at the Fellowship Conferment Ceremony in Abuja, NSE President and Chairman-in-Council, Mrs. Margaret Oguntala, highlighted that the elevation recognized the outstanding professional accomplishments of the inductees and their commitment to advancing engineering and technology in Nigeria.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Oguntala congratulated the new fellows on their achievement but stressed that the honor comes with profound responsibility. She urged them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethics, serving as role models to the next generation of engineers. Oguntala emphasized that the fellowship is not only a recognition of past contributions but also a lifelong commitment to ethical practice. She added that the NSE reserves the right to withdraw the fellowship from any recipient found guilty of misconduct or actions contrary to the society's values.
Oguntala called on the new fellows to support national efforts, particularly in infrastructure development, and carry the NSE banner with pride and purpose. She noted that the NSE is collaborating with key public and private sector players to drive sustainable progress.
Chairman of the Board of Fellows, Maliki Kamila, described the fellowship as the highest professional recognition within the NSE and a call to greater responsibility. He explained that each of the 261 inductees had undergone a rigorous and transparent selection process, demonstrating leadership, excellence, and integrity. Kamila encouraged the new fellows to promote engineering education, research, and innovation across the country.
Responding on behalf of the inductees, Ms. Jennifer Adighije, Managing Director and CEO of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), expressed gratitude to the NSE for the honor and pledged continued dedication to national development.
