Nigerian Union in South Africa Pays Tribute to Late Former President Buhari

Johannesburg: The Nigerian Union in South Africa (NUSA) on Tuesday paid tributes to late former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a significant figure in Nigeria's political history. The group made this tribute during a condolence visit to the Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, NUSA, the apex body of Nigerians in South Africa, released a statement in Abuja noting that the delegation was led by its President General, Mr. Smart Nwobi. Other officials in the delegation included the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Ekos Akpokabayen, and George Omagbemi, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President General of NUSA.

The group emphasized that the Nigerian leader would be remembered for his service for years to come. NUSA stated that its visit and condolence message were a show of unity and respect, reflecting the commitment of Nigerians in the diaspora to national matters. It expressed heartfelt sympathies to the Nigerian government and people during this time of national mourning.

According to NUSA, the visit also underscored the importance of honoring leaders who have shaped the country's journey.
