Nigeria to Showcase 105 Innovations in London to Attract Investments

Abuja: The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) announced that Nigeria is set to present 105 innovations in London, aiming to draw foreign investments and offer solutions to various human challenges. This initiative will serve as a platform for Nigerian innovators to demonstrate their innovative capabilities in sectors such as HealthTech, AgriTech, FinTech, Clean Energy, and Artificial Intelligence.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Dr. Kazeem Raji, Director-General of NBTI, revealed these plans during a press conference in Abuja, highlighting the significance of the event scheduled for October 9 at the Hilton London Paddington. The event, part of the Grand Finale of the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2025, promises to showcase revolutionary solutions from Nigeria's top innovators, selected from over 3,000 entries.

Dr. Raji detailed some of the innovative solutions that will be presented, including a smart wearable Bra-X for early breast cancer detection, a ventilator that can support six patients simultaneously, and AI-controlled drones for precision farming and pest control. The array of innovations also includes affordable clean energy solutions for underserved communities and cutting-edge FinTech applications aimed at promoting inclusive finance.

The decision to host the event in London is strategic, as Dr. Raji pointed out the city's role as a global capital and innovation hub. The event is expected to connect Nigerian innovators with global venture capitalists, diaspora investors, European industry leaders, and bilateral development opportunities.

The highlight of the event will include innovation pitches from the 105 participants with scalable and investable solutions. Additionally, there will be a Consortium Project Showcase featuring initiatives such as Interface Africa, Ogoni Land Renewal, and the $1 billion Innovate Africa Israel/BIPVco Solar Project. The launch of selected coastal areas of Lagos as a premier innovation and leisure destination will also be announced.

Prominent guests and keynote speakers are expected to attend, including Mr. Uche Nnaji, Nigeria's Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, CEO of Tesla Group Europe Dr. Shambhu Pokharel, and Mr. Victor Kitange, Economic Adviser of the Commonwealth Group.

Dr. Raji expressed gratitude to key supporters, including Allen Onyema, owner of Air Peace Nigeria, state governors, UKALD, National Assembly, and the media. He also unveiled the NBTI Global App, a digital platform designed to connect Nigerian innovation with global markets, investors, and entrepreneurs.

The event signifies a pivotal moment for Nigeria, positioning the country as a leader in global innovation. Dr. Raji emphasized that Nigeria is not merely consuming technology but actively contributing solutions on the world stage, marking a renaissance in innovation for the nation.
