Late Emir of Gusau’s Burial in Public Cemetery Fulfills His Final Wish

Gusau: The late Emir of Gusau in Zamfara, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, was laid to rest in a public cemetery in Gusau, honoring his personal request to be buried outside the royal family graveyard.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the decision was disclosed by the Emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Ahmad, who also serves as the Chairman of the Zamfara Council of Chiefs. Ahmad emphasized that the late emir had specifically instructed that his burial take place in a public graveyard.

Ahmad reflected on the late emir's decade-long reign, noting his character as God-fearing, jovial, approachable, sincere, and frank. He shared that the late emir was admired for his love, understanding, and commitment to his promises with his subjects.

The late emir passed away at the age of 71 in a private hospital in Abuja after a long illness. His funeral prayer in Gusau was attended by thousands, including prominent figures such as Governor Dauda Lawal, Deputy Governor Alhaji Mani Mummuni, and various national and state lawmakers.
