Kenedougou: The High Commissioner of Kenedougou Province, Saidou Sakira, officially installed Faustin Sanou as the new provincial director in charge of primary education for Kenedougou. Sanou, who is an inspector of primary and non-formal education, took office in a ceremony held in Orodara. His mandate will focus on continuity and collaboration within the educational sector.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Faustin Sanou was appointed by the Council of Ministers on October 9, 2025. He officially assumed his role on October 30, 2025, succeeding Pie Coulibaly, who led the institution for three years. Coulibaly's tenure was noted for its challenging security environment, yet he commended the dedication of education stakeholders in maintaining Kenedougou's reputation for academic excellence. Coulibaly emphasized the importance of recognizing the efforts of those involved in the education sector and expressed apologies to anyone he may have offended during his term.
Faustin Sanou expressed his commitment to uphold the projects initiated by his predecessor, highlighting the importance of collaboration among educational stakeholders to address the sector's challenges in the province. The ceremony also saw remarks from the regional director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Guiriko, Soilliou Karantao, and the High Commissioner of Kenedougou, Saidou Sakira. Both officials congratulated Coulibaly for his contributions and extended their best wishes to Sanou in his new role.
