Addis ababa: The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), QU Dongyu, has arrived in Addis Ababa this evening to participate in the second United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktake +4 (UNFSS+4).
According to Ethiopian News Agency, delegations from different countries and international organizations are converging in Addis Ababa for the UNFSS+4, scheduled to take place from July 27 to 29, 2025. The summit will assemble heads of state, representatives from international organizations, ministers, researchers, youth advocates, and civil society representatives from around the globe.
In line with this, FAO Director-General QU Dongyu made his arrival in Addis Ababa this evening. Upon his arrival at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, Dongyu was warmly welcomed by the State Minister of Health, Seharela Abdulahi, along with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The summit aims to evaluate global advancements in transforming food systems and create a cohesive strategy aimed at achieving sustainability, equity, and resilience. This event will reflect on global progress in food systems transformation, strengthen collaboration, and unlock finance and investments to accelerate action towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
