Addis ababa: Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed congratulated the awardees of the 7th Annual Loyal Taxpayers Recognition Ceremony, highlighting how their contributions have fueled visible transformation across the nation's capital. Speaking at the ceremony, he said, 'Last year, we promised that your tax contributions would be invested in vital public goods and national projects essential for our collective progress.' Today, he added that the transformation visible across our city's corridors stands as living testimony to that promise.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Prime Minister Abiy emphasized the impact of taxpayers' efforts on shaping a better future for the next generation. In a social media post, he reiterated the importance of their contributions and urged the continuation of support for national progress. The Prime Minister also addressed the issue of corruption, announcing ongoing efforts to strengthen systems designed to eliminate such practices.
He specifically urged all taxpayers to reject anyone engaged in what he termed "harmful practices" that undermine national progress. "Together, we can build a transparent, accountable, and prosperous nation," the Prime Minister concluded.
