Kisumu: Top government officials from the East African Community (EAC) partner states converged in Kisumu from May 12 to 16 for the 23rd Ordinary Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Lake Victoria Basin (SECOM-LVB). According to Nam News Network, the high-level gathering will bring together Cabinet Secretaries, Permanent Secretaries, senior officials, and technical experts from ministries responsible for Water, Environment, Natural Resources, Maritime Transport, and Communications across the region. The session for senior officials is scheduled for May 12 and 13, while Permanent/Principal Secretaries and Undersecretaries will attend on May 14 and 15. The session for the Cabinet Secretaries and Ministers will be held on May 16. The meeting will review the report of the implementation status of previous decisions and directives of the 22nd SECOM-LVB, the report of the 11th Joint Regional Policy Steering Committee for LVBC Projects and Programmes, and the report of Finance, Administration and Institutional matt ers.
