Cyprus Foreign Minister to Visit Tanzania to Deepen European Union-Tanzania Partnership

Nicosia: Cyprus Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Constantinos Kombos, is set to visit Tanzania from 8 to 10 July, representing the European Union's (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas. This visit aims to strengthen the EU's partnership with Tanzania and engage in discussions on regional and global issues.

According to African Press Organization, Dr. Kombos will meet with Tanzania's Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, along with other senior Tanzanian officials. The discussions will focus on EU-Tanzania relations, democratic governance, and economic cooperation under the Global Gateway strategy.

EU Ambassador to Tanzania and the East African Community, Christine Grau, emphasized the significance of the visit, stating that it highlights the EU's commitment to a strategic partnership with Tanzania based on mutual interests. This follows Foreign Minister Kombo's visit to EU Headquarters in April, showcasing the continuous engagement between the European Union and Tanzania.

During the visit, key topics will include political developments of mutual interest, regional developments, and economic cooperation. This engagement follows Tanzania's Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo's meetings in April 2025 in Brussels with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas and other EU officials to advance political dialogue, investment, and sustainable development.
