Oko-irese: The management of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara has reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality education during the institution's 5th matriculation ceremony. The event took place at the university's campus in Oko-Irese.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, welcomed a new cohort of 780 students, highlighting the growing trust in the institution's academic offerings. She encouraged students to utilize the university's facilities and engage actively in their studies and extracurricular activities.
Prof. Oladipo emphasized the university's dedication to equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world. She assured that the university remains committed to maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
Dr. Johnson Adewumi, the Chancellor and founder, addressed the students, stressing the importance of adhering to the institution's oath and becoming good ambassadors for their families. He also highlighted the requirement for students to participate in community service and obtain international certifications to advance their IT careers.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of representatives from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, led by Mr. Habib Maiyaki, along with parents, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders. The matriculating students represent all seven faculties and 22 programs offered by the university.
