DAR-ES-SALAAM, President John Pombe Magufuli has sworn in Simon NyakoroSirro as Tanzania's new Inspector General of Police (IGP).
During the ceremony here Monday, President Magufuli conferred Sirro the new rank of IGP thereby relieving him his former duties as a Police Commissioner.
He replaces Ernest Mangu who will be assigned other duties.
The ceremony was also attended by Vice-President SamiaSuluhu Hassan, Acting Chief Justice Professor Ibrahim Juma, Deputy Attorney-General Gerson Mdemu, Home Affairs (Interior) Minister Mwigulu Nchemba and Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda, among others.
IGP Simon Sirro took oath of Public Integrity, which was administered by the Secretary of Public Leaders from the Ethics Secretariat, John Kaole.
