DAR-ES-SALAAM, Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has launched the country's 2nd National Financial Inclusion Framework, saying the fast-growing economy will boost the development of Tanzania's financial sector.
Launching the blueprint at the Central Bank of Tanzania (BOT) here Thursday, the Prime Minister added that available infrastructures developed by both the private and public sectors and the increased number of communication network users were good avenues of turning the idea into actuality.
The framework is expected to be implemented from next year until 2022, said Majaliwa, who tasked members of the council responsible for the Financial Inclusion Framework to prepare special education programmes which will raise awareness among the people, especially those living in rural areas.
I would like to see co-operation between financial institutions and ICT (information communication technology) stakeholders which will finally improve electronic financial services in rural settings, he said.
