Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal will represent Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the 27th Africa-France Summit to be held in the Malian capital, Bamako, from Saturday.
The summit, to be held under the theme “Partnership, peace and emergence”, will focus on the progress made in the implementation of recommendations which emerged from the 26th summit held in Paris in 2013, according to a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister here Thursday.
In addition, the Bamako meeting will deliberate on ways to strengthen co-operation between France and African countries with a view to collectively addressing common challenges, particularly peace, security and development in Africa.
“The Bamako Summit will take place as Africa, under the double impulse of the African Union’s New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and Agenda 2063, is making every effort for its development, through better co-operation with its different partners,” said the statement.
The Prime Minister will accompanied to Bamako by Minister of Maghreb, African Union and Arab League Affairs Abdelkader Messahel.
