The visiting Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, says he will focus on boosting the operations of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA) among other development projects in discussions with Zambian officials.
Wang, who arrived here Saturday from Madagascar in the course of a five-nation African tour, added that TAZARA is one of the biggest projects which had been implemented between Zambia and China and should not be left to die.
He says the TAZARA railway had great potential of creating more employment as well as contributing to Zambia's economic development.
The current generation in China and Zambia to continue working together to strengthen relations which have existed between the two countries, Wang said when he called on Zambian Foreign Minister Harry Kalaba.
Kalaba expressed confidence that Wang's visit to Zambia would further strengthen the cordial ties which the two countries had enjoyed.
He was that the Chinese Minister had raised the issue of the TAZARA railway at a time when Zambia was keen to expand its transport sector.
